With Alberta wildfires on the rise, thousands of Albertans were forced to evacuate their homes and acres of land have been drastically annihilated. Wildfire season is on the rise, more fires are expected to burn and more people are going to require help. Unfortunately, many charities and organizations are assisting those who are in need of support and help during these drastic times. For this, we have compiled a list of non-profit organizations you may donate to to help of those suffering from the current wildfires in Alberta.

Canadian Red Cross has launched the 2023 Alberta Fires Appeal where donations will be used for immediate and ongoing relief, recovery and resilience efforts in response to fires, and community preparedness and risk reduction for future all-hazard disaster events within Alberta. The Government of Canada and the province of Alberta are matching with the Red Cross, meaning every dollar donated will become three dollars.

TELUS is contributing $5 million in emergency support for Alberta fire relief. TELUS customers can text DONATE to 41010 to give $20 to support registered charities providing wildfire relief across the province

The Government of Alberta is providing Emergency Evacuation Payments for those who evacuated details can be found on the Government of Alberta website.

Disaster Aid Canada is collaborating with Rotary groups in multiple Alberta communities and other organizations to bring support to people affected by these wildfires. 

The Salvation Army is responding and assisting those affected by the wildfires in Alberta. Those wanting to donate financial assistance can do so on their website.

Parachutes for Pets is currently raising funds to assist pets that were forced to flee their homes due to the devastating Alberta Wildfires.
